SSL certificate expiry check
Paste a public site. WhoopsBot connects to port 443, reads the certificate, and tells you how many days are left. It does not open the page in a browser.
What this check looks at
- The certificate's not-before and not-after dates, and the number of days left from today.
- The name on the certificate and the organization that issued it.
- Whether this runtime trusts the chain, and a plain reason when it does not (self-signed, wrong host name, or expired).
What it does not do
- Port 443 on the host you name. It does not try other ports, and it does not visit every subdomain.
- A date in the future does not mean every browser on earth will accept the chain. It means this check could read a certificate and count the days.
- It does not renew the certificate, change DNS, or crawl the site.
